Coral Cove Bay
Coral Cove Bay is aptly named for it has a number of corals just off the shore that are great for snorkeling. For the less energetic the beach has fine white sand ideal for sunbathing. Near the surf the sand is a bit coarser as it is mixed with dead coral. The sea is usually very calm at Coral Cove Bay and so is great for swimming. It is a small beach with just a few places to stay. The turning for Coral Cove Bay is located at the bottom of the big hill that separates Chaweng from Lamai. It is easy to miss the turning. It is probably for this reason that Coral Cove Bay doesn't get too crowded.
The area has dramatic rocky outcrops and cliffs at both ends. At the northern end of the beach you sometimes see people trying their luck with fishing rods. Much of the accommodation has great seaviews. Coral Cove Bay is a beautiful spot by night as well when the moon is reflecting on the sea.
Coral Cove Bay is a small beach (about 200 meters) set among dramatic rocky scenery. It is an area that is less well known than either of its two neighbors - Chaweng and Lamai which are both just 5 minutes away. For those looking for a quiet beach but near all the best nightlife of Koh Samui there are few better options than Coral Cove Bay.
Within walking distance of most of the resorts in Coral Cove are a handful of good restaurants and bars such as Dr Frogs which serves Italian food.
